Quantum of Solace SUCKED

No, I'm not talking about the movie, the movie was pretty badass even though it lacked a good story. The movie got me so excited to play through the game because the movie was action packed and I wanted to experience that through Bond himself. Anyways, this will seem pretty biased, because I am writing this off of the first 20 minutes of playing the game.

I just wasn't into it. The controls were pretty bland, not that great to get used to and it just felt weird. They were almost identical to the Call of Duty controls because the developers were Treyarch, which also developed COD5(which I'll write review on later) but they added some other controls which just made it worse to play with. The graphics were an insult to the PS3 console, it looked like it was an upgraded version of the PS2 but wasn't PS3 material. The explosions looked so fake, and there were easily noticeable explosive canisters that can be seen from a mile away because every 2 seconds they give off a bright ass shine. The AI from the enemies were so simple and stupid you can easily just run up to every single enemy and physically take them down yourself. Even the takedowns were getting old quick, every other takedown was the exact same thing but they slowed it down to make it look epic but it wasn't, it was repetitive.

It was (Call of Duty + James Bond) divided by 4 = Quantum of Suckage. Again, this is only from the first 20 minutes of playing. Trust me, I honestly TRIED to like this game and play through after watching the movie, I even tried to force myself to play through the game but it just wasn't working for me. It was a real disappointment because I thought this game would differ from other "movie games" but it didn't, it just dug itself a deeper hole in the crap pile.

So if you were thinking of getting this game, which I hope you weren't, forget it and save your $60 bucks and buy a real game. Or at least watch this movie, and 5 other movies too. I recommend Role Models btw which was hilarious...

REVIEW: LittleBigPlanet

It's been awhile since I played LBP so this review might be a little iffy. As with mostly everyone who owns a PS3, I was really anticipating what was called to be a big exclusive platformer. I bought on it's release and was not disappointed. The intro is very interactive and gives notice and credit to the people who made the game which all games should do. The story mode was really fun and there are a lot of unlockables that can keep you coming back for more. But where LBP truly shines is the online play. There are so many user-created levels that it can keep you gaming for hours on end.

The levels you can play online are featured on planets which there are only 5 of them, so if you played all levels on all the planets, then you'd have to search for new ones which can be hard to find good ones. Think of it as a youtube for LBP levels, the best ones are usually featured on the first planet and so on, and the rest you can find by "hearting"(which is just like subscribing) an author or by search.

It is a really fun game to play with friends online or off and the graphics are amazing. The music sort of gets old after awhile but then you won't get tired of it. The gameplay is so simple that is works.

Verdict: 9 out of 10, or A if you want a grade letter.

Become The President

It is the day after the election, and it is apparent that the next President of the United States is Barack Obama.

Now, thanks to the Mercenaries 2 DLC you can become Obama himself and kick ass as the President. Or if you want, become Sarah Palin and also kick ass as her as well. The renders are surprisingly accurate...

With that said, I'm sure you are wondering what it will mean to gamers with Obama as President. Ok you probably weren't wondering that, but here is President Obama's stance on video games pertaining a question asked to him about video games.

The video game question posed to Obama in that survey:

“To date, nearly 10 states have considered legislation to keep violent video games out of kids’ hands. Would you support this type of legislation at the federal level? What other strategies would you support to keep the video game industry and other media companies from marketing and selling inappropriate content to children?”

Obama’s answer:

“A: We need to give parents the tools and information they need to make choices about what programs their children are watching or what video games they are playing. As we move towards a digital environment, there is a golden opportunity for the industry to do this on their own—to use the latest in technology to give parents more information and more choice. For example, this technology could make it possible for parents to create their own family tier just by programming their television to block certain channels, block certain genres of programming like dramas, or block television at certain times of the day. The same can be said of video games, especially as we’re moving into an era when they can be downloaded as easily as today’s movies and television shows.

“I would call upon the video game industry to give parents better information about programs and video games by improving the voluntary rating system we currently have. Broadcasters and video game producers should take it upon themselves to improve this system to include easier to find and easier to understand descriptions of exactly what kind of content is included. But if the industry fails to act, then my administration would.

“And even if the industry does do some responsible self-policing, there’s still a role for the federal government to play. We need to understand the impact of these new media better. That’s why I supported federal funding to study the impact of video games on children’s cognitive development.”(1)

Camille Doc Does Bond

There's really not much to expect from the upcoming Bond game based off the movie Quantum of Solace. It's for hardcore Bond fans and for everyone else, I'd say it's worth the rent.

I also haven't really been checking up on the movie either and it's release is Nov.14th so I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing a lot of advertising but to get a head start. Check out Camille Doc's video as she discusses working on the movie and the videogame. But really, it's just an excuse for me to post a video of her hotness which I've just discovered by watching this video. And you like what I did with the title there? It's funny because most likely it's going to be true, figuratively and literally.

L4D: Left 4 Dead (Mikey You're Nuts)

Alright, I just read Mikey's thoughts on L4D and how he happened to compare it to Dead Space and Bioshock. Let's just take a second to see the differences shall we?

Here's a little peek at the Dead Space gameplay...

Hmm...ok, now let's have a little bit of Bioshock...

That's pretty cool...now let's watch the TOTAL FUCKING CARNAGE THAT IS -LEFT 4 DEAD-

Left 4 Dead, unlike Dead Space and Bioshock, is unscripted. In Left 4 Dead, they give you an environment,an extraction point, and then the computer spawns HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of zombies upon you.

It's a 4-Player multiplayer game, you must help each of your friends survive and work as a team. You think you can take it solo? WRONG. The computers A.I. will amass zombies to cut of any sort of help from you to your three buddies while they mob you to death. It's either work as a team or die alone.

You can play as 4 survivors helping each other to get out, or be the 4 Zombie Bosses (that all have unique abilities) to kill them, so up to an 8 player game with 4 survivors and 4 Zombie Bosses...

and if you couldn't tell by the gameplay, it's a CLUSTER FUCK

Left4Dead will be AWESOME

Left 4 Dead, Killzone Nostalgia and Twitter

Recently the videogame developers behind Left 4 Dead just released the intro movie in the remaining few week left of anticipation for the game. I couldn't find an HD quality video so you'll just have to settle with a youtube link, but I don't think it hinders the viewing experience though.

From watching that video, it seems it portrays the feel of the game, always looking over your shoulder and feeling vulnerable at all times. But from what I can see, it doesn't differ from many horror games such as Dead Space or BioShock did.

Anyways, since the latest trailer from Killzone, watching this video of almost 8 minutes of Killzone 2 Beta gameplay...

and this seeing this mesmerizing .gif from Killzone 2 as well...

Looks like this Helghan just got RAPED

It had me thinking about the game and its long overdue release date. I just can't wait that long for February to come around anymore. I've had the strategy guide and the first Killzone game, but I lost/misplaced both while remodeling my room and I am in dire need of a Killzone fix. Which is why I'm planning to buy the guide and game again when I buy EndWar this coming Tuesday.

Supposedly you can still play the multiplayer online through your PS3, which I haven't done with Killzone since I didn't have the internet back in the day. I would also like to play through the campaign again because I remember it being fun to play. What I really want to play is the multiplayer in modes such as capture the flag and my favorite, assualt. I miss the gritty graphics, the maps, and especially the weapons.

For those anxiously waiting for the Killzone 2 Beta as I am, I highly recommend logging your name onto www.killzone.com just to increase your chances of getting a beta key. I'm a part of the Killzone community on there so add me as a friend if you're willing to be part of it too. The community on the site is still quite small and I'm trying to be active on the forums enough to get myself noticed to get a beta key once it comes out.I know how nerdy it sounds but hey, I really want that beta key more than anything right now and I'm sure you probably will to when the time comes to it, early bird gets the worm right?

So yeah, I might be the only one here, but who's willing to buy the first Killzone again or replay if you already have it and play with me online? Nobody?...

Oh and if you haven't looked to the right by now, we are now also on Twitter so you can know what we're doing and what we're playing so check that out as well if you're checking this.

What To Expect from COD5:WaW

Call of Duty 5 is just a few weeks away from it's release date and even with all the hype around it, we still don't know what to expect. That is, until this video from IGN telling us absolutely EVERYTHING in multiplayer.

James Gordon Pictures, Images and Photos
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordan

I guess you can say I just got a bit more excited for this game. The overwhelming of options surrounding the multiplayer looks like we will have another WWII shooter unlike any other.
